Two complains: Screen Responsiveness and SuspendToRam/Disk

I'm wondering, what's with all the people who feel the need to begin and/or end their comments or blog posts with the 'I love Linux' disclaimer? If the point is valid, it really shouldn't matter if someone loves Linux or not.
