This is all fine stuff, and I'm happy to gain further insights into the whole advance thing, but I still think that if somebody told me "you can have $450,000 more dollars as an advance, or I could take you to lunch at Michael's," that I'd pick the money. I mean, even the chopped salad was ... these straws of hay with the occasional needle. And it takes those out-of-line advances to make us decide to finally one day sit down and make that book we've been carrying inside real.
